It wasabout time i gave some sort of explanation about those collars 
The geek of questionnable pedigree comment refer to something said 3-4 pagesago,but it been a month or 2 since then so you might have forgotten.
The 2 guys between Lancaster and the old guy are Kaput and Zoski, from a francobelge comic created by Lewis Trondheim which been adapted by Nickodoleon in a carton.
I think the amound of ink on a page or a panel might become an indicator of the degree of satisfaction i got with that page or panel, you will understand when you see the next page
